Upcoming Courses

IMPORTANT NOTICE to all Charlottetown, Montaque, Morell and Bluefield students:

Because of the change in the age limit for young novice drivers, our Driver Education Programs will be offered according to enrolment. Please register early in order to avoid disappointment and to assist us in insuring that the program can be offered in a timely manner.

After April 1, 2007, the required time for a novice driver to hold their Class 7 license will be a minimum 9 months with a Driver Education Program and a minimum of 12 months without a Driver Education Program.

Road Safety Education Course Information

Our Road Safety Education Course consists of the following components:

  • 25 hours of classroom instruction
  • 10 one-hour driving lessons
  • 6 hours of observation
  • Your bookbag
  • One beginner's test
  • One Driving test
  • Your driver education certificate upon successful completion of your driving test

We service the Charlottetown, Bluefield, Montague, Souris and Morell family of schools.

INTENDED OUTCOMES

Intended Learning outcomes for students of Abegweit Driving School Limited:

  1. regard driving and traffic safety from a decision making perspective;
  2. view driving as a mental and physical activity;
  3. become more aware of the consequences of their driving decisions;
  4. exhibit more control and less confusion when responding to unfamiliar road conditions and driving situations; and
  5. assume personal responsibility for themselves and their vehicles in creating a safe driving environment for others.

STUDENT REQUIREMENTS

Abegweit Driving School Limited Requires Students to please follow these simple rules:

  • Please attend ALL classes.
  • Please be on time for your in-car lessons.
  • Please obtain a medical certificate if you will require one.
  • Please have your beginners permit and your glasses (if necessary) with you when you have an in-car lesson.
  • Please provide us with 24 hours notice of a cancellation or to change your in-car lesson schedule.
  • If you miss a classroom session, your parent or guardian must call to advise us. Unless you are old enough to vote (18) then you call us.)
