Code of Conduct For Road Safety Educators and Staff
Abegweit Driving School Ltd. and all associated Educators and Staff will abide by the following Code of Conduct:
- In all aspects of business they will follow the principles of Courtesy, Care and Consideration for others.
- Do their utmost to be well informed and up-to-date regarding information applicable to road safety education, driving technique and rules of the road.
- Ensure all appropriate license and insurance responsibilities are met.
- To the best of their ability ensure that students are taught more than the basic skills of driving a motor vehicle. They will also do their utmost to instill in their students driving attitudes that demonstrate regard for the law and other road users and ensure maximum safety for all concerned.
- To contact and book students in a timely and professional manner.
- Follow up on all student or public complaints on driving instruction or conduct, and to the best of their ability resolve any faults that become apparent.
- Ensure that all driving methods and techniques used are beyond reproach and set an example for the community.
- Maintain appropriate standards of dress and personal hygiene.
- Maintain all vehicles in good mechanical order, condition and appearance, both internally and externally.
- Ensure all contact with students is restricted to matters directly related to driving instruction.
- Endeavor to maintain the highest standards of punctuality and reliability.
MISSION STATEMENT
Abegweit Driving School Limited chooses to operate on a basis of compassion and caring.
Our desire is to provide information and knowledge to our students through the use of classroom and in vehicle teaching methods.
We wish to provide our students with a knowledge based ability to make decisions that ensure their safety and the safety of all other road users.

NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF ROAD SAFETY EDUCATORS HELD IN FORTUNE

This year's national conference of the Road Safety Educators Association of Canada took place in Fortune thanks to the efforts of Louise MacDonald, president of Abegweit Driving School Ltd.
The national conference and workshop is an annual event that has not been held outside of Toronto for the past 12 years. MacDonald's efforts changed that this week when the group of educators, government officials and other experts in road safety made the trip to Fortune for a downhome conference experience Island style.
